Preposition practice – Troublesome prepositional phrases
written by Lilian Ndongmo. ESL Teacher
If you’re finding it difficult to master prepositions in English, you’re not alone. Many English learners find learning and using prepositions a headache. If you stop now, you’d have wasted time and effort, and you would not see any improvement. So, take a Tylenol and continue learning.
Below is a short quiz for practice. The level is between intermediate to advanced. Choose the right preposition for the prepositional phrases. Note that the correct preposition is not negotiable – meaning that you can only use the one preposition and no other.
For example: instead_______?
The right preposition here is of. On, to, for, in, by, at, over, about, up, down or any other preposition is wrong.
